Kids And iPods

Date: Nov 16, 2009      Category: Writing Nook

I love my iPod but I do not get to use it much. It was originally purchased for me so that I could take it to the gym. I don’t workout as much and I certainly have no time to sit down and listen to music. I have however found a new use for it and that is to keep Kody happy with his kids tunes.

We have a car adapter for my iPod and I found free nursery rhymes to download. Now we drive down the road while listening to “Wheels on the bus” and other gems. When Kody was little, we had a stuffed animal with an iPod adapter that we’d use to play nursery rhymes while he was in his crib. He absolutely hated that stuffed animal though.  It was a white tiger. He’d bawl every time he’d see it. The car adapter he has no problems with and loves kicking his legs while listening to “Old MacDonald”. So while Mommy no longer has her iPod, at least we put it to good use.

Kody also likes my iPod’s earbuds, as you can see in the picture below. I don’t play music while he has earbuds in, just so it does not hurt his ears. He thinks its cool to just wear them.

Yamaha PDX-60 is a wireless iPod dock with speakers. We have always talked about getting a dock for the house and something like this would be perfect. I like its remote control and playlist features, we could play adult music and not just nursery rhymes. This speaker system would be wonderful for us to use in the house while entertaining friends and family. It might just end up on our Christmas wish list.
