Web Hosting Review Site

I started developing websites in 1998, slowly graduating to blogging and then ultimately to running a web hosting company. I have seen both sides of the industry; customer and provider. Web hosting reviews were not as available back when I started buying plans. I did always do my own research by asking other bloggers or searching through message boards. Reading web hosting reviews is important because you are dealing with online transactions but you also require reliable service. There is a lot more to web hosting plans than just timely payments and honestly some companies do not deserve to have you as a customer because their service is nothing but a sham.

I never had problems with honest customer feedback or reviews, because I understood the importance of a customer’s opinion. I did always have issues with websites that would accept a “customer review”. I say this because a lot of these websites were sponsored by large web hosting companies. They would also display ads and prominently feature bad companies as “the greatest” on their website. Some bad hosting review companies would go as far as accepting fake reviews, knowing full well that they were not written up by customers or were unverifiable.

The web hosting industry has come a long way. I may not be involved as much anymore, but I am delighted to see a website such as upperhost.com. They are not for profit, accept not advertisements from web hosting companies and do not proclaim that a company is superior just because they paid them to say so.

I like their mission of informing customers. It is all about education and informing potential clients about what they need to know before buying. It protects our customers but it also preserves the integrity of a good business. I also like how they include articles for web hosting companies and professionals in the field. We could all learn a little more and improve our business methods.
