Monitoring Employees With ActivTrak

I used to work for a state department in Virginia, years ago and also before I started my own business. Saying that makes me feel old for a second, but I appreciate all the lessons learned at that job. We used to have employee monitoring software installed on our computers, which for a state department is necessary to keep an eye on safety and data that employees might be sharing online. It is also a good way for any business to keep track of their employees, especially in the age of social networking and when people would rather play on Facebook than work on their tasks.
I watched the Employee monitoring demo and it’s nice to see that they include Twitter and Facebook monitoring in their software. I agree with this application and the need to keep an eye on employees who are slacking off. In today’s economy, people should be grateful to have a job and not waste their employer’s dollars by playing on Facebook. I also like that the demo shows management of several workstations, this is great for companies that employ a large number of workers. It seems like a very easy to use and monitor tool for network administrators, and it would benefit small business owner’s as well.
